This week, we focused on getting back to the basics in my design studio. After learning so many different ways and platforms to present our ideas last semester, it was time to get back to the physical hand drawing techniques we began our studio experience with to not only show how far we have come on those terms, but to remind us of this effective way to communicate our designs in a clear way. I have been in art classes for years, doing hand drawings with materials like charcoal and graphite, but at the start of last semester I learned that although the way I have always known to communicate my ideas can be effective in certain ways, there are plenty of others that are to be known and used when going about constructive design drawings. I struggled with this at the start of last semester, but have been able to work more comfort into the new processes that have been taught to us. Below I have included some pictures of the progress I have made this week on our assignment, which was to pick an object, and discover as much about it as possible. To communicate exactly what we see and to indulge in the many details of its purpose, design and motion.
