Studio Week 5

This week we began work on our exploratory light box projects. Starting off the week with study models made of cardboard, we ended the week with foam core models that experimented with reflection of color through light. It was difficult for me to come up with a different idea each time, because every time I started an idea, I was never sure if the idea would be communicated clearly or not until I had the whole box together, which was frustrating at times. We did some modeling in Rhino and experimented with spotlights, which ultimately did not give us much more insight than physically making models, but allowed us to try out models and ideas before we spent the time to actually build the boxes. This week was very focused on iterations and individual work time, as we come up on the last few days before our final boxes are due.
